Links for Internet Access The Connecting to the Campus Network Instructions will walk you through the steps necessary to get your computer ready to join the UWL network. This is also the first page you will be brought to if your computer does not meet the requirements. Trend Micro Housecall will scan your computer for viruses, spyware, and malicious software. Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate Edition is a free anti-virus solution that UWL provides for students. Log in with "eagle\" and your 8.4 username, then your email password. For example, if your 8.4 username is smith.john, your username would be "eagle\smith.john". This download of Symantec Anti-Virus only works in Internet Explorer, not Mozilla, Safari, Opera, Chrome, or any other browser. Microsoft Updates should be installed every week to ensure your computer is protected and can continue to access the UWL network. Cisco Clean Access Agent is required on all Windows computers that attempt to connect to the campus network. This link will only work if you are on campus. General Software Downloads Adobe Reader is a free program used to view PDF documents. Often documents obtained from D2L or other online resources will require a PDF reader like Adobe. Mozilla Firefox is a popular web browser that some people prefer to Internet Explorer. Our Partners At UWL The ITS Support Center is another resource for technology help. In addition to Cisco Clean Access Agent, anti-virus and Windows Updates, they also can help with email and password issues, technology training, D2L, the WINGS Student Center, and more. General Computing Access provides computer labs and computer classrooms around campus. Each Residence Hall has a computer lab, along with Wimberly Hall, Murphy Library, and the Wing Technology Center. WINGS Student Center is where students can register for and view their class schedule, grades, financial aid packages, billing, and more. For assistance visit the WINGS Help Page. The Financial Aid Office should be your number one contact for finding loans, scholarships, and even part time jobs to help finance your education. The Academic Advising Center is an excellent resource for students who have not decided their major, or who have but would like assistance beyond their assigned faculty adviser to be most successful at UWL and beyond.
